The Greenfield Open Spaces and Playground Restoration Project is transforming our well-loved schoolyard and public park into a safer, greener, and more inclusive space for all. As we know, the school yard is a huge part of our school community—and a resource for everyone in center city outside of school hours.
After 15 years of wear and tear, we’re replacing surfaces, modernizing play equipment, enhancing green areas, and making long-needed repairs that will benefit the community for decades.
We’re thrilled to share that the project is on track for construction in summer 2026. Our “90% drawings” were reviewed by the district, final design submission is upcoming, and we’ve made great progress on fundraising. Significant work still remains, including contractor selection, a School Board vote to approve the project, and the final fundraising push.

Thanks to your generosity and community partnerships, we’ve raised $692,000 of our $970,000 goal — more than 70% of the way there. To complete the full project in one summer, we have just under $280,000 left to raise. Several large grant applications are outstanding, but we need your help:
- Corporate fundraising push: Do you or someone you know work at a company that supports education, community, or sustainability projects?
- Individual capital campaign supporters: Do you know individuals who would be excited by this project and would contribute to a capital campaign that benefits the city?
- Spread the word: Share this effort with friends, alumni, and family. Every donation–$5 or $50,000 moves us closer.
