What's the Role of a School Advisory Council (SAC)?

A School Advisory Council (SAC) is a peer-elected, collaborative team that works to improve student achievement, effective teaching in the classroom, and parent and community engagement in the educational process. Each school’s SAC is unique in its composition and the way it functions. Read more about the role of SAC here.

Greenfield SAC Goals and Objectives

Greenfield Elementary’s School Advisory Council is working to continue strengthening all aspects of school culture and community relationships.

Our goals are to:

  • Support In- and Outside of the Classroom
    • We’re asking: How can SAC better serve as a liaison between parents and teachers?
  • Strengthen School Climate & Culture
    • We’re committed to: Helping to foster an inclusive and socially just school climate and culture where every student feels like they belong.
  • Enhance Communication & Engagement
    • We’re working on: Reimagining and raising awareness around the role and purpose of SAC at Greenfield.

How you can help!

One of the ways that SAC is helping to strengthen the school community is by calling on/working with/holding up individuals in the community!

There are so many parents, guardians, and caregivers who have cool professions, unique interests, and fascinating backgrounds and experiences. We want to create an internal SAC document that we could use to connect parents, guardians, and caregivers in our community with teachers (and/or other staff members in the building) if there is an upcoming unit, project, etc. where their skills and expertise could enhance students’ learning and experience.

If you’re interested in sharing your information, please fill this form out: Repository of Awesomeness in the Greenfield Community.
